Start the process for becoming a certified respite provider by learning CPR and first aid through this training!
**This training will not complete your certification, but will help you complete some of the steps.
Care Pack Packing Night
During a CarePack night, the community comes together to pack weekend food bags for schools in our area to pass out over the next two weeks. Weekend food bags ensure that students facing food insecurities do not go without food during times school food options are not available (like weekends and holidays). Every year, Love and Care Ministries passes out over 55,000 bags to students in Abilene ISD and 9 additional local school districts.
We would love for you to join this night and help make a impact on students in need in our community. The Well has reserved 35 spots for this event and will be joining others from around our community. Please register everyone that will attend so we can have an accurate count!

We Learn Abilene - Session 2
This event will center around homelessness in Abilene and Taylor County and ways The Well can make an impact in this area. We will listen to experts in the field and participate in a small service project all from our facility!

Teen Mom Mentorship Training
This will be the first informational meeting/training for WLA's new teen mom mentorship program. This program will expand our current ministry of offering baby showers to this demographic, so that these sweet moms can have additional support if requested following their shower.
We would love for our experienced moms within the church to get involved and love our neighbors well through intentional, supportive relationship.
We Learn Abilene - Foster Care
We Learn Abilene is a series of sessions designed to bring awareness and training to people of The Well about different topics and demographics in Abilene.
Our first event will center around foster care in Abilene and Taylor County, Foster 325, and ways The Well can make an impact in these areas. We will listen to experts in the field, families doing the work and participate in a small service project all from our facility!
Childcare and dinner will be provided! We have a limited number of spaces available so make sure to register!
Steps Mentorship
Steps is a biblically-based discipleship program offering healing, recovery, and freedom from any type of struggle.
They are having an open invitation on the evening of January 15 to anyone interested in mentoring men and women going through this program.

The Well Gift Shop
We Love Abilene is partnering with Communities In Schools and AISD Homeless Ministry for the second annual The Well Gift Shop.
The Well Gift Shop provides an opportunity for the families of at-risk and homeless youth at Mann and Clack Middle Schools to purchase low cost gifts for their entire family.
Foster Parents Night Out
New Hope is going to be hosting a Foster Parents Night Out on December 8! We would love volunteers to participate in loving on these kids and families. Email wla@thewellabilene.com before November 30 if interested!

Ready Set Glow 5K
Are you ready for the second annual Ready Set Glow 5k race?!
The Ready Set Glow 5k is a fun, family friendly Glow Run that will take place in downtown Abilene on October 8, 2023. It will start at sunset (approximately 7:30 pm) at the Well church and end with a Glow Party in the Well's green space. All proceeds from the run will benefit the We Love Abilene benevolence fund for utility assistance, providing help to our neighbors during this summer of extreme temperatures.
5k Committee Meeting
We Love Abilene will be hosting the Ready Set Glow 5k on Sunday, October 8 to raise money for the Well's benevolence fund. This meeting is to begin creating the committees needed to make this run a success!
If you would be interested in helping plan the course, glow party, or recruit volunteers and sponsors, we would love for you to attend our committee interest meeting during first service The Well on Sunday, May 21.
